Ask your landlord to fix something
A letter to your landlord or letting agent about a repair or a problem with the home you rent, saying what you want done and by when.
Do this in chat: answer two or three questions and your agent writes it, then change it by asking.
What you type stays on this device: OpenMap doesn’t see it or keep it.
What the law says
- In England and Wales, most landlords must keep the structure and outside of the home, and the water, gas, electricity, sanitation, heating and hot water, in repair (Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, section 11).
- Report a repair in writing and keep a copy: a landlord usually only has to fix something once they know about it.
- If your landlord doesn’t act on a serious problem, your council can inspect the home for hazards to your health or safety.

This is not legal advice. You check the letter and send it yourself. OpenMap never sends it, files a claim for you or takes any share of money you get back.
