How OpenMap makes money and chooses results
We choose results by fit, not by what pays us. Whether a link earns us money never affects which results you see or their order.
How results are chosen
For each kind of ask we use the facts that matter to you: how well it fits what you asked, price, distance or time, how recently it was checked, whether you can finish it in OpenMap.
What we do not use
Commission, any payment from a partner, whether a link earns us money, or what OpenMap earns from a booking or a plan. Ranking, ordering, highlights and the top few results are never based on any of these.
If a shop is in more than one affiliate network, we choose the network by a fixed rule, never by commission.
How we make money
Businesses on OpenMap pay for their plans. If you allow partner links, some links to other sites may pay us a commission, and that row says so before the link: “Ad · We may earn a commission.” Partner links go through an affiliate network (Awin, CJ, or Impact for Ticketmaster). They are off unless you allow them, and plain links to the same sites are used instead. Nobody can pay to be placed in results: a row is labelled “Ad” only because its link can earn us a commission.
Businesses on OpenMap
At equal fit, an option you can complete in OpenMap may rank above a hand-off to another site, because it is quicker for you. OpenMap earns from those businesses through their plans.
What results include
Results come only from companies we work with or can check, so shop, hotel and experience lists are not the whole market.
Companies we work with
Listed here when a partnership is approved. There are none yet.
Prices and bookings
Prices were checked at the time shown and can change. For a purchase from a partner, the partner is the seller: you pay them on their own page, and they handle changes and refunds. OpenMap is never the seller.
